Heute ist das Wetter mal so was von grauselig (nur dicke Regentropfen, die an mein Fenster klopfen... *lalala*), da muss man einfach an der Nähmaschine sitzen. Und nun will ich Euch meine letzten beiden neuen Nähmaschinenfüßchen vorstellen:
- den Applikationsfuß "F" und
- den Anti-Haft-Fuß.
Today the wheather is so bad (only heavy raindrops, which hits my window.... (an old german music) *gg*), so you have to sit at the sewing machine. And now I like to show you my last both sewing machine feet:
- the applique foot "F" and
- the ´non-slippery-foot.
Für meinen kleinen Nachbarn unten und für das Patenkind einer Bekannten habe ich zwei neue Schnuffeligel genäht. Der Igel ist ein eigener Entwurf von mir und auf der einen Seite wird ein Fellstoff verwendet. Auf dem appliziere ich immer ein rotes Herz - die beste Möglichkeit meinen neune Applikationsfuß zu verwenden. Ich habe euch mal die drei Applikationsfüße, die ich besitze zusammen gestellt. Zwei waren schon bei der Nähmaschine mit dabei und in den letzten Jahren immer wieder für "nicht optimal" befunden. Wie ihr seht, gibt es einige deutliche Unterschiede bei den Füßen:
For my little neighbour downstairs and for a godchild of a friend I've sewn two new smooch-hedgehogs. The hedgehog is a self-made pattern and on one site, there is a fur-fabric. On this I always applique a red heart - the best chance to try my new applique foot. I compiled the three applique feet for you below. Two of them came to me with the sewing machine and during the last years I did not adjudg them to be "good" again and again. You can see, there are many distinct differences between them:
1.) Der neue Fuß ist deutlich kürzer als die alten. Dadurch liegt natürlich auch deutlich weniger Fuß auf dem Stoff auf und - das finde ich schon den größten Vorteil - ist damit deutlich wendiger als die alten. Bei denen muss man sehr oft anhalten und umsetzen und es entstehen manchmal Lücken. Hält man nicht an, entstehen unschöne Falten im Stoff. Eine solche Lücke könnt im unteren Bild oben links sehen. Mit dem neuen Applikationsfuß ist mir das nicht passiert.
1.) The new foot is obvious shorter than the old one. By this theres less feet on the fabric and by this - I think it is the greatest advantage - the foot is much more agile. With the old one you will have to stop much often and replace it and so there becomes some little gaps in the seems. If you don't stop the fabric gets some poor wrincles. Such a gap you can see below at the top left of the heart. With my new applique foot this didn't happen.
2.) Der neue Fuß hat zwei "Haltestangen" - eine für den Schnapper, wie jeder Fuß ihn hat, und eine zweite, die hinten in die Halterung eingesetzt wird. Dadurch ist der Fuß starr befestigt und liegt immer parallel zur Nähmaschine. Das hat m.E. Vor- und Nachteile. Wenn sich die Dicken der zu übernähenden Stoffe ändert, ist der Übergang manchmal etwas schwierig und man muss etwas nachhelfen. Aber auf der anderen Seite liegt der Fuß immer auf, was ich auch meistens als sehr vorteilhaft empfinde.
2.) The new foot has two "grip bars" - one for the snatch, which every foot has, and a second one, which has to be put into the mount at the backside of the snatch. By this the foot is fixed and lays parallel to the sewing machine. This is for my opinion a pro and contra. If the thickness of the fabric changes, the passage is sometimes difficulty and you have to help a little bit. But on the other side, the foot always lay down at the fabric, which I prefer nearly most of the time.
3.) Der neue Fuß besteht nur aus durchsichtigem Kunststoff. Die alten Füße haben links und rechts zwei kleine Metallschinen. Meiner Meinung nach gleitet der neue Fuß leichter, aber das kann auch Einbildung sein.
3.) The new foot consits only of clear plastic. The old feet have metallic bars at the left and right. For my opinion, the new foot slides in a better way than the old one, but this can be only an illusion.
Die Bezeichnung der Füße ist u.U. etwas irreführend. Sowohl der geschlossene alte und der neue Applikationsfuß haben die Bezeichnung "F" und der zweite alte, jedoch offene Fuß hat die Bezeichnung "F2". Warum zwei unterschiedliche Füße die gleiche Bezeichnung haben? Keine Ahnung. Sie sind natürlich vom Prinzip sehr ähnlich, haben aber trotzdem einige Unterschiede.
The naming of the feet are little bit deseptive. Both the oold closed foot and the new also closed applique foot are named "F" and the second old opened foot is named "F2". Why are there two different feet with the same name? I don't know. Of course, they are principally similar, but they have some differences anyway.
Und nun noch zu meinem neuen Anti-Haft-Fuß. Das Ergebnis habt ihr ja schon gesehen - die "Open Wide Zipper Pouch". (Meine Mutter hat sich übrigens heute total über die Tasche gefreut, darf ich vermelden. *selber freu*) Ich habe versucht, das Leder mit meinem flexiblen Reißverschlussfuß zu nähen, wie ich es bei normalen Stofftaschen auch schon mal mache. Das hat gar nicht funktioniert. Das Leder ist einfach nicht transportiert worden. Mit dem neuen Fuß - ohne Probleme. Er hinterlässt keine Spuren auf dem Leder, was der Transport unten natürlich tut. Wenn man also auf der rechten Lederseite näht, ist so ein Fuß denke ich unentbehrlich. Übrigens habe ich auch einmal probiert, durchsichtige Folie auf das Leder zu nähen, wie man es für Adressanhängern an Koffern verwendet - auch ohne Probleme. Ansonsten muss man vermutlich immer Papier oder ähnliches mit unter den Fuß legen, damit man nähen kann. Bei der Folie kann es dann aber zu Wellen führen.
And now let's have a look onto the new non-slippery-foot. The results you have seen already - the "Open Wide Zipper Pouch". (By the way, my Mom was really happy about it, either, I can tell you. *self totally happy*) I tried to sew the leather with my flexible zipper foot, how I sometimes make it with normal fabric pouches - no chance! The leather wasn't transported any way. With the new foot - no problem. It doesn't leave some traces onto the leather, which the transport below certainly does. If you will sew on the right side of the leather, I think, such a foot is essential. By the way I tried to sew some clear foil onto leather, how you make it for adress tags - also no problems. Apart from that you will have to lay a sheet of paper or similar between feet and leather/foil to sew. And with the foil it can bring waves into it.
Fazit also: Beide Füße kann ich uneingeschränkt für meine Janome MC6600 empfehlen. Alle Füße habe ich übrigens bei "
Nähwelt Flach" bestellt.
Conclusion: Both foot, I can absolutly recommend for my Janome MC6600. I have bought all feet at "Nähwelt Flach", by the way.
Und zu guter letzt noch die fertigen Schnuffeligel. Ich werde gleich einen der beiden nach unten bringen. Mal gucken, ob der Kleine mich noch kennt.
And last but not least the finished smooch-hedgehogs. I'm just about to bring one of them downstairs. Let's see if the little boy knows me at all.
