Pillow Swap Four Seasons

Ich habe euch vor einiger Zeit doch erzählt, dass ich beim "Pillow Swap Four Seasons - Summer" mitmache. Heute will ich euch dann auch mal zeigen, was ich so genäht habe und was ich bekommen habe, denn mein Kissen ist letzte Woche endlich bei CeLynn in den USA angekommen.

I've told you some months ago, that I participate into the "Pillow Swap Four Seasons - Summer".  Today, I like to show you, what I've sewn for my partner and what I got, because my pillow arrived last week at the USA.

Hier noch einmal mein Sommer-Mosaik, nachdem meine Partnerin - Magdalena aus Graz - sich etwas ausdenken sollte.

Here, I like to show you my summer mosaic. By this my partner - Magdalena by Graz - should decide, what she would like to sew.

Meine Wünsche waren in erster Linie, dass es farblich zu unserer roten Couch passen sollte - und schaut mal! Ist es nicht wunderbar, was sie mir gezaubert hat? Ich LIEBE dieses Kissen und am Montag habe nun auch endlich eine Füllung beim blau-gelben Möbelriesen gekauft. Vielen, vielen Dank, liebe Magdalena!!! Auch ganz herzlichen Dank für die vielen kleinen Geschenke, die Du mir noch beigelegt hast. Das Kissen ist schon fleißig in Benutzung.

My wishes were first, that it should fit to our red couch - and have a look! Isn't it amazing? I LOVE the pillow and at Monday, I could at least by the filling at the blue-yellow furniture-shop. Thank you so, so much, dear Magdalena!!! And an addition special thanks for the little presents, you put into the package. The pillow is in use every day.

Und hier nun das Kissen, dass CeLynn bekommen hat. Sie hatte bestimmte Farbkombinationen vorgeschlagen und ich habe mich für Violett/Schwarz entschieden. Dazu ein wenig frisches Grün, um das Ganze noch ein wenig aufzupeppen. Als Hintergrund wollte sie keine Low Volumes, wie sie gerade modern sind, sondern lieber Leinen. Das konnte ich sehr gut verstehen, denn Leinen macht das ganze sehr Edel meiner Meinung nach. Und CeLynn findet das Paper Piecing besoners schön. Also habe ich ein paar Federn via Paper Piecing genäht. Eine ist ein wenig klein geworden. Daraus habe ich noch eine passende Hülle für ein Heftchen genäht. Die mittlere Feder ist aufgestickt und die beiden äußeren freihand gequiltet - ich finde ja den englischen Begriff "threadpainting" da sehr passend. Den Hintergrund habe ich mal ganz anders gequiltet. Bei Angela Walters habe ich gesehen, dass man tolle Effekte erreichen kann, wenn man zwei unterschiedliche Garne durch eine Nadel nimmt und damit quiltet. Also zwei Rosatöne von meinem heißgeliebten King Tut rausgesucht und lockere geschwungene Linien gequiltet. Ich finde, so wirkt es, also ob die Federn ein wenig vom Wind hin und her gewirbelt wird. Ansonsten hat CeLynn noch ein paar Süßigkeiten und deutsche Cremes dazubekommen. Meinen Stempel konnte ich jetzt auch mal ausprobieren. Gefällt mir gut und CeLynn hat sich zusammen mit ihrem Mann, der hauptsächlich die Süßigkeiten bekommt, wohl sehr gefreut, was natürlich auch mich wahnsinnig freut.

And here the pillow, CeLynn got by me. She proposed some special color combinations and I decided to take the purple/black one and added some fresh green to pimp it up. for the background she didn't want low volumes, which are "in" at the moment. Instead of this, she likes to have some linen, which I can understand, because it makes it more noble. And CeLynn likes paper piecing. So, I sewed some feathers with paper piecing. One of them was a little bit to small, so I used it for a booklet cover. The middle feather is stitched by hand and the two outer one are made by thread painting. The background is quilted in a new way for me. I've seen at Angela Walters blog, that she used two different threads in one needle for quilting. It creates a fantastic effect. So, I took two different shades of pink of my beloved King Tut threads and quilted some gently waved lines. I think, they make the feathers look like they are flown away by the wind. Additionally CeLynn got some German candy and some German cremes. My stamp, I could use it the first time. I like it and CeLynn and her husband, who got the mean part of the candies, seem to like it, too. That's what I'm really happy about it!

Und weil es so schön war, mache ich bei der Herbstrunde auch gleich mit. Hier mein neues Mosaik.

And because it was a really amazing experience, I participate in the next round for Autumn. Here is my new mosaic.

Grün, grün, grün sind alle meine Täschchen...

Diese Woche ist "Grün" die Farbe der Wahl im "Frühjahrsputzim Stoffregal" bei Emma. Und dementsprechend sind heute grüne Täschchen genäht worden. Arbeiten bei denen ich nicht mehr viel nachdenken muss, so dass ich über meinen Pillow Swap und andere Sachen nachdenken konnte. Ab heute soll verschickt werden, aber ich bin auf Grund der letzten drei Wochen noch nicht so weit. Aber jetzt weiß ich, wie es weiter geht und ich hoffe, diese Woche noch verschicken zu können. Ein Goodie (das Wort steht sogar im Duden habe ich gerade gelernt!) ist schon fertig geworden. Drei Krimskramstaschen sind entstanden (und eine davon in Gedanken schon wieder weg) und heute Abend noch meine allererste runde Tasche für den Geburtstag einer guten Freundin morgen. Von außen nicht viel Grün, aber dafür von innen. (Merkt man, dass sie auch so ein Schaf-fan ist wie ich?) ;o) Und ein Hängerchen ist auch entstanden. - Viel zu girly für meinen Mann, wie er festgestellt hat. *gg*

This week "green" is the color for "spring-cleaning at the fabric board" with Emma. And by this green pouches had been sewwn today. This work, I don't have to think about, so I can think about the pillow swap and other things. From today on, the pillows should be shipped, but, because of the last three week, I'm not ready. But now, I know, how I will finish it and hope to ship all this week. One goodie (you can really find it into the German version of the Oxford English Dictionary!) is already finished. Three hodgepotch pouches have been sewn (and one of them is already reserved) and this evening I've sewn my very first round pouch as a birthday present for a good friend of mine. Not green at the outside, but inside. (Can you imagine, that she is also a very huge sheep fan like me?) ;o) And a little pendant has been made. - To much girly for my husband. *gg*

Pillow Swap Four Seasons

Geschafft! Gerade habe ich mich beim "Pillow Swap Four Seasons" angemeldet. Organisiert wird er von Sandra und Karen und ich war schon ganz begeistert von den Ergebnissen der letzten Runde. Der Swap ist international und geheim, d.h. das man nicht weiß und auch nicht wissen darf, von wem das Kissen kommen wird - bis man es wirklich bekommt. Ich bin schon so gespannt, wie es wird und was ich dann irgendwann mal bekommen wird.

Done! I've just signed in for the "Pillow Swap Four Seasons". It's organized by Sandra and Karen and I was so enthusiastic about the results of the last round. The swap is international and a secret one, that means, that you don't know who will sew your pillow - until you get it. I'm so excited, how it will be and what I will get anytime.

Wir haben schon zwei Kissen fürs Sofa, bräuchten aber noch ein passendes drittes. Ich liebe ja das Modern Quilting und die Farben Schwarz, Weiß und Rot (passend zum roten Sofa) enthalten. Orange und Gelb kann auch noch gerne dabei sein und Federn finde ich im Moment neben Hexagons, Flying Geese und Kreisen total toll.

We already have two pillows for our sofa, but we need a third one. I love modern quilting and the colors black, white and red (fitting to our red sofa) should be contained. Orange an yellow can be there, too, and feathers are my total favorit beneath hexagons and circles.
