Kurs bei Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe - Christrosen

Am Wochenende war es endlich wieder soweit. Der Kurs bei Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe mit dem Thema "Christrosen" in den Räumen von Nadel und Faden in Stuttgart stand vor der Tür. Für mich war es der dritte Kurs bei ihr und ich war nicht die einzige Wiederholungstäterin. Acht Frau von jung bis alt warteten wissbegierig auf zwei tolle Tage. Denn das ist es immer bei Elsbeth: einfach toll, super interessant, neu und experimentell!

At the weekend I cound finally took the next class by Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe at the rooms of Nadel udn Faden at Stuttgart. The theme was "Christmas roses". It was the third class with Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe and I wasn't the only repeater. Eight young and olf women waited inquiring for these two amazing days, because that are the classes by Elsbeth: simply amazing, totally interesting, new and experimental.

Wer Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe nicht kennt, sollte sich mal ihre Homepage oder Ausstellungen ansehen. Sie macht kein traditionelles Patchwork sondern eher "zweckbefreite" Stücke, wie wir es kichernd bezeichnet haben. WUNDERSCHÖNE Bilder aus Stoff, Garn, Farben und anderen überaschenden Materialen.

For those of you, who don't know Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe: you should visit her homepage or one of her exhibitions. She's not a quilter in the traditional way, but she makes "pure" pieces, how we called them giggling. AMAZING pictures made of fabric, thread, color and other surprising materials.

Zunächst sollten wir eine große Collage aus Stoffresten erstellen (ich hab leider kein Foto davon gemacht), aus der dann mehrere kleine Stücke geschnitten wurden. Die waren die Basis für die verschiedenen Techniken, die wir ausprobiert haben:
- Serviettentechnik,
- Farbauftrag via Vlisofix,
- Filzen (Elsbeth hatte extra ihre Filzmaschine mit dabei),
- Schmelztechnik,
- Malen mit der Nähmaschine oder auch Stiften und Kreiden auf Stoff,
- "normales" Applizeren "nicht normaler" Stoffe (z.B. Pannesamt),
- Sticken per Hand und mit der Maschine,
- Windelvlies,
- Perlen....

First, we should make a fabric collage (I missed to take some pictures of this process) to make several little ieces of them. These are the base for the techniques we could try:
- napkin decoupage,
- color application with Vliesofix,
- felting (Elsbeth brought her own felting machine to the class),
- melting technique,
- painting with the sewing machine or also with pencils or crayon,
- "normal" application with "non-normal" fabrics (like panne velvet),
- embroidery by hand and with machine,
- napkin fleece
- perls...

Ach, einfach toll! Meine Probestücke waren beim Fertigen eher quadratisch. Sie sollen aber am Ende eher rechteckig (ca. 6" x 8") werden. Daher habe ich euch mal immer zwei Fotos gemacht - Ist-Zustand und ungefähres End-Format und dazu noch ein paar Detailaufnahmen. Die ersten drei sind schon fertig. Der Rest braucht noch ein wenig bis mehr Bearbeitung.

Oh, it was so much fun! My practise piecces are now nearly a square. But they should look more like a rectangle (ca. 6" x 8"). So, I made two pictures for you - one is the status quo and the end size and some additional details. The first three are already finished. The others are "in progress".

Wir hatten sehr viel Spaß, haben viel gelacht und gelernt, einfach mal dem Bauch zu vertrauen - und wenn etwas nicht gefällt oder "verbrennt", dann kommt halt was neues oben drauf!!! Trau Dich! Und da es für mich der dritte Kurs war, konnte ich dieses Mal auch wirklich meinen Ideen freien Lauf lassen und den Kopf etwas mehr ausschalten. Wenn ihr mal die Chance habt, an einem Kurs von Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe oder auch nur eine Ausstellung zu besuchen: MACHT ES!!! Es lohnt sich und ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen!

We had so much fun, laughed a lot and learnd to trust one's gut - and if it doesn't suits you or if it's burned, put something on it!!! Trust yourself! It was the third class for me, so I could start to let my ideas flow and "switch of my head". If you will get the chance to join a class with Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe or to visit an exhibition: DO IT!!! It's totally worth and I can really recommend it to you!

Christmas Tree QAL III

Diese Woche geht's natürlich weiter beim Christmas Tree QAL bei Aylin und Sandra. Bei mir gibt's heute Block #10 - komplett Paper Piecing und teilweise etwas friemelig. Genau das, was ich mag! :D

This week, the Christmas Tree QAL by Aylin and Sandra is going on, for sure. Here is my block #10 - completly made by Paper Piecing and sometimes real itsy bitsy. That's what I like! :D

Am Wochenende darf ich dann wieder an einem Kurs von Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe teilnehmen. Thema ist dieses Mal "Aus den Blumengärten - Christrosen". Ich bin schon sehr gespannt.

This weekend, I'm able to join another class by Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe. This time the theme is "Out of the flower garden - Christmas rose". I'm really curios about it.

By the way: Plant jemand von Euch, nächste Woche auf die "Handmade" in Würzburg zu gehen? Ich denke, ich werde hinfahren und freue mich schon darauf, u.a. einen meiner Lieblingsshop - Wuilt Cabin - wiederzu sehen.

By the way: Is anyone of you planing to visit the "Handmade" at Würzburg next week? I think, I will and I'm looking forward to see f.e. one of my favorite quilt shops - Quilt Cabin - again.

Bilder einer Ausstellung - "QuiltArt" Nürtingen 2015

Letzte Woche war wieder die "QuiltArt" in Nürtingen. Die Ausstellung findet alle drei Jahre statt und jedes Mal gibt es wunderbare Quilts zu sehen. Vor drei Jahren hatte z.B. Nana einen Quilt ausgestellt. Damals wusste ich aber gar nicht, wer Nana ist - heute schon fast unvorstellbar. ;o) Dieses Jahr hat u.a. Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe ausgestellt. Quilts mit Stoffen von Brigitte Heitland - sie designed die Stoffreihe "Zen Chic" für Moda und noch viele, viele schöne mehr. Toll war für mich - und das war der große Unterschied zu vor drei Jahren - dass ich nun inzwischen doch recht viele Leute kennengelernt habe. Es ist schon toll, wenn man nicht mehr so anonym über eine Ausstellung läuft und immer mal wieder mit lauter lieben Menschen ins Gespräch kommt.
Ich kann euch hier gar nicht alle Quilts zeigen. Von daher gibt es jetzt nur einen kleinen Teil.

Last week there was the "QuiltArt" in Nürtingen. The exhibition tooks place every third year and every time there are so beautiful quilts. Three years ago Nana exhibited a quilt for example. At then time I didn't know about Nana - nearly unthinkable today. ;o) This year, Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe exhibit f.e. Quilts made with fabrics by Brigitte Heitland - she designs the fabric line "Zen Chic" by Moda and so many, many more. It was fantastic in another way for me - compared to three years ago -, because now I got to know so many nice people in the meanwhile. It's so much fun not to be anonymous anymore at such an exhibition and to meet many lovely people and talk to them.
I can't show you all the quilts. So by this here is only a little part of  them.

Mal wieder ein Lebenszeichen

Moin Moin, ihr Lieben!
Heute nur mal wieder ein kleines und kurzes Lebenszeichen von mir. Die Arbeit hat mich gerade wieder voll im Griff und mein Mann meinen Laptop. ;-) Sein PC ist so kaputt, dass er einen neuen braucht.
Erst einmal will ich mich ganz arg für die vielen, vielen lieben Kommentare bedanken! Ich freu mich immer so, wenn eine Benachrichtigung in mein Postfach flattert. Die Tasche hatte am Wochenende ihre große Premiere und sie hat den Test wunderbar bestanden. Es hat so viel reingepasst! Mein Arbeitsplatz war bei einem Kurs noch nie so ordentlich. ;-) Zum Kurs aber später mehr.
Dann vielen Dank an Christiane und Nina für ihre Giveaways! Ich hab doch glatt zweimal gewonnen. Auch dazu später mal mehr.
Ansonsten versuche ich gerade ein (neues) System in meine Stoffe zu bekommen und war deswegen mehrfach beim Schweden um neue Regale und Boxen zu kaufen. Am Wochenende habe ich das Thema hoffentlich abgeschlossen kann mich wieder voll und ganz dem Patchen, Quilten und kreativ sein widmen. - Ach ja! Drei von euch sollten hoffentlich heute Post haben. ;-)

Bionic Gear Bag

Ich habe ein neues Lieblingstäschchen! Vor ca. zwei Monaten habe ich mich bei Craftsy angemeldet. Dort gibt es tolle Online-Kurse zu fast jedem kreativen Thema. Und unter anderem habe ich dabei diese schicke Tasche gefunden. Sie heißt Bionic Gear Bag und wurde von Sally Thompson entworfen. Leider gibt es wohl ziemliche Diskussionen, ob sie den Entwurf von der SewTogether-Bag übernommen hat. Mmh, ja - Ähnlichkeiten sind vorhanden und Sally sagt auch, dass sie mit der Tasche begonnen, diese ihr aber nicht vom Platzangebot gereicht hätte und daher eine neue Tasche nach ihren Wünschen entwickelt hat. Auf jeden Fall ist sie echtes Platzwunder! Schaut euch mal auf ***dieser*** Seite an, was sie alles darin unter bringt. Der Hammer! Am Wochenende habe ich dann die erste genäht. Und es wird bestimmt noch ein paar mehr geben, denn meine Family hat schon Bestellungen aufgegeben. Nächstes Wochenende habe ich meinen zweiten Kurs bei Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe bei Nadel und Faden. Da freue ich mich schon total drauf und werde mal die Tasche testen. Mal schauen, was ich alles unterbringen kann.

I got a new favorite bag! About two months ago I registered on Craftsy. You can find so many great online-classes on nearly every creative theme. And one of them is this amazing bag. She's called Bionic Gear Bag and was designed by Sally Thompson. Unfortunately there is a discussion running, whether she had assumed the design by the SewTogether-bag. Mmh, ok - analogies can be seen and Sally says, that she started with this bag, but this one wasn't big enough and that's why she started a new bag with her wishes. In any case it is a real wonder of space! Have a look at ***this*** page what she can store in. WOW! This weekend I've sewn my first one. And it won#t be the last, because my family already placed an order. Next weekend I will have my second class with Elsbeth Nusser-Lampe at Nadel und Faden and then I will give this bag a try. Let's see, what I can store in it.
