Yesterday, we fixed two lamps to the ceilings. One above the dining table and the other one in my room. Yeah!!! Now, I can sew also in the evening! :D And because of the flexible track and the four single spots I can light every corner as I'm needing it. Please don't observe the chaos under the light too much. *gg* There are still things not at their final places, so it looks really chaotic much sooner when you are looking for THIS gripper. ;)

I also added some little baskets and my Findus between the two shelves beneath my sewing tables, so I can grab little things easily.

During the week of Corpus Christi we will visit my parents. The sewing machine will stay at home - unfortunately. But for this, I will try to make bobbin laces after more then 15 years and I will take a class with my Mom and my sister at one weekend. For my Mom's birthday I've sewn a poroject bag. My Mom's friend, who will lead the class, seamed to really like the bag, so my Mom asked me to sew another one out of the rest. No sooner said than done! I'm curious if she will like it - and how my skills will be after 15 years of not making bobbin lace. *gg* You won't forget how to cycle and I learned it nearly at the same age.

Some weeks ago, Marian from "Seams to be sew" organized the blog-hop "Quilt Qwazy Queens" with a lot of amazing blogs to show. Every participant told about her way getting a quilter and showed a lot of quilts. And everyone had a give-away. So, I had the luck to win again a little box of Aurifil thread at Beth's blog "Word and Stiches" (I'm following this blog for a long time). Have a look at these colors - aren't they screamin Spring is coming!"? So many thanks to Beth and Marian - and to Aurifil - beneath King Tut my absolute favorite thread for quilting and sewing!!!

Was meint ihr?

On Saturday, I went to Nadel und Faden. First, Uschi and I tried to find some additional fabrics to increase the contrast for the planed pattern. But it didn't work. So, I had to change my pattern plans and I decided to sew a modern "plus-quilt" as you can see below. That's a scaled sketch. To get a little bit of additional life into the quilt, we searched for some orange and red fabrics to highlight some plus signs. I'm thinking about scaling down some of the colored plus signs, so they won't stand out too much. A "normal" plus sign will be 9". The only thing I will have to think about is, how to piece the plus signs - either I will take five squares - and then I will have some "pattern jumps" because of the seams - or to take two squares (above/down) and on long rectengular (in the middle). What do you think? Choosing the second variant will show the fabric pattern best, but I will have to be really careful to get perfect plus signs. The other way, it would be much easier to get perfect plus signs... The Quilt will be about 60" x 80". So, maybe there is someone out there with experience in this pattern?

Oh, my sweet readers!!! You are so cute! Thank you so, so much for your gently and lovely wishes and comments! I'm totally overwhelmed!
I'm really fine at the moment, although sometimes some pragnancy gouts, you heard before, but cannot imagine, that they could be such heavy, really bowl me over. *gg* But luckily I have some really gently friends, who help with words and deeds. Next week, there will be a new photo shooting and we are totally excited!

Und was macht Frau da? Schlafen!

Friday was FNSI again. And what did I do? Sleeping! I fell asleep right on the couch. I lay the blame on the hormones. *gg* It's great to have such excuses. So, I changed it into a S(aturday)NSI. I hope, that's ok, Wendy.

This weekend, there were two days of duty and just today's evening freestyle. Yesterday, I thried first to get the Master of the situation in my creavity center. Have a look at my sewing table. That's not ok, isn't it? ;-P

Anyway, I got my "non-quilting-shelf" tidied up. Ok, before I could do this, I had to put 1cm thick pieces under the front bases - the floor of the house, in which we are living, is such buckled. After this I could move all the things in. So, some boxes got empty and it put a little bit of order to the system. I love this clear boxes by the blue-yellow Swede. I filled three boxes only with pencils and crayons. That's rediculous, isn't it?

Gestern Nachmittag bzw.

Yesterday, in the afternoon, I could concentrate myself on my sewing-duties. Last September last year, I promised three little presents for a birthday and still had to sew two of them. That's really bad, isn't it? One was a mobile chaching station

and a little emergency pouch. The fabric had been chosen by the birthday girl at my favorite quilting store. A little tissue pouch had been finished last year already. I must admit, that didn't like the light velvet felt not soooo much. So, I rearranged the ribbon on it.

Inside the pouch I used some waxed fabric, so you can clean it if necessary. Outside it's a turnaround pouch. Maybe you can imagine the box pleats. The fabric role is made of velvet and green fabric. And I didn't know, which fabric my friend likes most. So, in the pleat, there is the "other" color-sheme. The pouch got a little basic equipment and the birthday girl was really happy about it.

*jamjam*

And today, in the evening, it was time for freestyle - sushi for a pregnant woman! So, it meant to marinate the fish ans fry it and so, I can eat it, too. *yummy* No (regular) sushi is really hard for me - a real sushi junkie and I will be sooo happy to eat "normal" sushi again. *gg* But, our friends made such good sushi combinations, they were really delicious. And I will eat "my" sushi again in some months. And because I cannot ear sooo much at the moment, I will have a really delicious dinner tomorrow. *yummy*

Sie hat mich wieder!

Yeah! *gg*

Yeah! Today, I did it! After weeks of abstinence I reached my sewing machine again. But first, I had to struggle through all the stuff in my creative center, because at the moment, it looks like an exploded storeroom. *gg*

After 4" of quilting, the bobbin was emty.... WHERE ARE MY THREADS?????? Help???!!!! Of course I found them in the last box. Uff! Found! Let's go! The diva acted a little bit coyly, but after some strokes she is running wonderful and I started quilting again.

Danke!!!!! :D

And do you know? I am soooooo pleased about your lovely comments to the last post - you cannot imagine it! Thank you soooo much!!!!!! :D
