neue Sofakissen

Letztes Wochenende fiel mir mein Mini-Charmpack von Moda "Shades of Black" in die Hände und ich wollte ja unbedingt meinen neuen "Queen Size Surpreme Slider" ausprobieren. Und da meine Sofa mal neue und größere Kissen braucht, habe ich einen Kissenbezug angefangen. Ich finde, die schwarz/weißen Stoffe bilden ein tolles Muster bzw. einen tollen Kontrast zum roten Quiltgarn. Entweder sieht man das Muster der Stoffe oder das Quiltmuster. Aber das Garn ist mir natürlich auf das letzte 1/5tel ausgegangen. Also erst einmal das Internet durchforsten und Nachschub bestellen. Naja, und dann hatte ich keine schwarz-weißen Stoffe für die Rückseite mehr. Die sind inzwischen auch gekauft. Im Laufe der Woche wird der Bezug dann bestimmt fertig.
Das Quilten mit dem Slider hat wirklich ganz viel Spaß gemacht. Es ging so schön einfach und flüssig durch den Slider. Vielleicht sind die Flammen und Spiralen noch nicht so schön geschmeidig und gleichmäßig wie bei Leah Day, aber Übung macht ja bekanntlich den Meister. Das Muster habe ich das erste Mal ausprobiert. Ansonsten habe ich meinen neuen durchsichtigen 1/4"-Fuß ausprobiert, mit dem man auch wunderbar in Nähten nähen kann. Er hat zwei unterschiedliche Anschläge, die man austauschen oder auch weglassen kann. Das rote "Kreuz" habe ich übrigens im Nachhinein appliziert. Es ist mit Bügelvlies unterfüttert und ist noch einmal ein toller Hingucker mit 3D-Effekt.

Last weekend I got hold of my little charmpack "Shades of Black" by Moda and I wanted to sample my new "Queen Size Surpreme Slider", too. And as my sofa needs some new and larger cusions, I started a new pillowcase. I think, the black and white fabrics form a great pattern respectivly a great contrast to the red quilting thread. Either you see the pattern of the materials or the quilt pattern. And of course the thread ran out on the last fifth. So, I combed through the net and ordered supply. Well, then I had no black and white fabrics for the back anymore. They are already bought. It will surely be finished during this week. The freemotion quilting was really so much fun. It was so handsome because of the slider. Maybe the flames and spirals aren't so wiggly and evenly like Leah Day's, but you know, practice makes perfect. I tried ot the the pattern for the first time. Apart from this, I tried my new clear 1/4"-feet. You can also sink-stich, too. It has two different beat-ups, you can switch or leave it out. The red "cross" I've applied retrospectively. It is lined with fusible web and a great eye-catcher with a 3D effect.
