Patchworktage in Dinkelsbühl I

Gestern sind sie gestartet -  die Patchworktage 2015 in Dinkelsbühl. Wer noch in der Nähe ist und morgen .. äh heute ... Zeit hat, sollte hinfahren UND bequeme Schuhe anziehen. Dinkelsbühl ist ein wunderhübsches altes Städtchen mit Stadtmauer etc. und deswegen auch nur Kopfsteinplfaster. Ich hatte wegen des anhaltenden Regens nicht meine Sneakers anziehen wollen sondern meine Boots mit etwas Absatz - taktischer Fehler. *gg* Aber das war egal! Die schönen Quilts und das Treffen vieler alter und neuer Bekannter hat das allemal wett gemacht!
Yesterday, it started - the Days of Patchwork 2015 at Dinkelsbühl. To everyone, who is nearby and has a free day tomorrow ... upps today... should go there AND took some comfortable shoes. Dinkelsbühl is a very old little town with a city wall and for this only cobblestone pavement. I didn't wear my sneakers because of the neverending rain. I weared my boots with heels...tactically error *gg* but I didn't care! The beautiful quilts, I have seen, and meeting old and new acquaintances compensate it!

Angefangen mit Elaine von unsere MQG Stuttgart und ihrem Mann, mit denen ich gleich am Anfang mal in einem netten Café bei leckerem Mohnkuchen den Hunger stillen konnte, über Kathrin von unseren Stichlingen am Stand von Quilt Cabin. Über eben die lieben Besitzer von Quilt Cabin und StoffArt aus Uelzen, wo ich am Schluss noch wieder vorbeigeschaut und fleißig geschnackt habe über alles und nichts. Weiter über Martina, Katrin (vielen lieben Dank noch einmal für den Fingerhut), Nana, Alexandra, Eva, Monika und noch die lieben anderen Blogerinnen, die ich kennenlernen durfte. Es war sooo schön! Mit Martina habe ich z.B. Nanas Ausstellung besucht und ein äußerst leckeres Eis gegessen. Alexandra habe ich erst verpasst und dann hat es zum Schluss zum Glück doch noch mit dem Treffen geklappt (vielen lieben Dank, liebe Alexandra, für den einen Euro - meine persönliche Retterin an dem Tag! ;)
Starting with Elaine, one lady of our MQG Stuttgart and her husband, with whom I could satisfy my hunger in a nice littel café with a very delicious poppy cake, over to Kathrin of the Cannstatter Stichlinge at the QuiltCabin's stand. Over to the really lovely owner of QuiltCabin and StoffArt, to whom I returned at the end and talked a lot with. So, over to Martina, Kathrin (thank you again for the thimble), Nana, Alexandra, Eva, Monika und all the over blogger, which I was able to get to know. It was such a great day! With Martina, I vistited the Nana's exhibition and ate a very delicious ice cream. I missed Alexandra on my first try, but at the end, we met each other (thank you soooo much, Alexander, for the Euro - my personal hero for the day! ;)

Heute will ich euch nur ein paar erste Bilder zeigen:

Dinkelsbühl

Ab Freitag bis Sonntag sind in Dinkelsbühl die Patchworktage der Patchwork Gilde Deutschland. Von einigen weiß ich schon, dass sie hinfahren werden. Ich selber werde am Freitag da sein und von Martina, Nana und Alexandra weiß ich, dass sie auch da sein werden. Ich freu mich schon ganz arg darauf, Nana wiederzusehen und Martina und Alexandra nun auch endlich mal "in live" kennen zu lernen. Wie sieht es denn beim Rest von Euch aus? Ist noch jemand am Freitag da und hat Lust sich mit mir zu treffen? Wenn ja, schreibt mir doch bitte eine Nachricht und dann bekommen wir das bestimmt hin. Ich würde mich sehr freuen! :D
From Friday to Sunday there will be the Patchworktage by the Patchwork Gilde Deutschland at Dinkelsbühl. Some of you will come - that's what I know. Myself, I will visit the exhibitions and shops at Friday and I know, I have the chance to meet Martina, Nana and Alexandra. I'm so happy about it, to meet Nana again and to get to know Martina and Alexandra "in live". What about you? Will there be someoneelse there at Friday? If you want to you can send me an e-mail and I'm sure we will find us. I would be very happy about it! :D

PS: Mich erkennt man übrigens am Besten an meinen roten Locken (meistens zum Pferdeschwanz zusammen gebunden) und einem roten Rucksack aufm Rücken. ;o)

Lebenszeichen

Ja, mich gibt es noch! Hier war es ja die letzten zwei Wochen ziemlich ruhig. Auf euren Blogs habe ich leider auch nicht allzu viel kommentiert. Entschuldigt bitte, aber in den letzten zwei Wochen hat sich so einiges in meinem Leben verändert - alles nur positiv. Das könnt ihr mir glauben, aber ich musste doch ein paar Sachen erst einmal klären. Später im Jahr dann mehr davon. Und dann sind da ja auch noch die Quilts für Karlsruhe, die fertig werden wollen. Jetzt fehlt mir nur noch ein kleines Binding und die Labels. Dann die Tunnel für die Aufhängung und alles ist gut. :D

Yes, I'm still alive! It was a little bit  quiet the last two weeks at my blog and I didn't comment as much as I wanted to. I'm so sorry for this, but during the past two weeks there had been so much changes in my life - but all positive. You can absolutely believe me, but I had to clarify something up. But later on the year I will tell you more about it. And there have been some quilts to be finished for Karlsruhe. Until now only one little binding and labels are missing. And after this just the tubes for the hanging and everything is done. :D

Ich muss ja gestehen, dass ich bei einigen Kommentaren zu meinem letzten Post wirklich rot geworden bin. Danke an Euch alle!!! Ihr glaubt gar nicht, wie ich mich gefreut habe. Und damit ihr noch einen kleinen Vorgeschmack bekommt, hier zwei Bilder vom fertigen Quilt. Das Binding ist nach hinten geklappt, so dass man es fast gar nicht von vorne sieht und ein neues Label musste natürlich auch rein.

I must admit, that I blushed by reading some of your comments to my last post. Thank you so much to all of you!!! You cannot imagine, how happy I am. And to give you a little preview, here two pictures of the finished quilt. The binding is clapped rearward, so you can't nearly see them at the front. And a new label had to be put in, too.

Der Tula Pink Sampler geht in die letzte Runde. Morgen werden die letzten Blöcke gezeigt und ich habe nun auch alle "Ersatz"-Blöcke genäht. Vielen lieben Dank an Marianne, Eva, Ulla und Dagmar für die Stöffchen, die ihr mir zugeschickt habt! Im Laufe der Woche zeige ich Euch dann meine neuen Blöckchen und meine "neue" Zusammenstellung.

The Tula Pink Sampler calls for the last order. Tomorrow the last blocks will be shown and I have sewn all "alternative" blocks. Many thanks to Marianne, Eva, Ulla and Dagmar for all the fabrics, which they had sent to me! During the next week I will show you my new blocks and my new compilation.

vier leere Spulen später...

... habe ich gedacht, ich hätte schon mal früher putzen sollen. ;) Schaut mal, was sich innerhalb von vier Spulen Aurifil 50/3 in meiner NäMa angesammelt hat. Holla die Waldfee! Merke - nach zwei Spulen reinigen - mindestens nach dreien, auch wenn man, wie in meinem Fall, keine Probleme beim Quilten hat. Ok, kommt ja auch aufs Vlies drauf an und das Garn, aber das war mehr als ich dachte.

After four empty bobbins... I thought, that I should have cleaned up earlier. ;) Have a look, what piled up after four bobbins Aurifil 50/3 into my sewing machine, also if you don't have any problems like me. OMG! So - remember - cleaning after two bobbins - at least after three. Ok, it depends on the batting and the thread, but this was more than I thought it would be.

Und damit ihr auch wisst, womit man vier Bobbins verbraucht, hier mal ein Ausschnitt von meinem einen Ausstellungsquilt. Diesmal von vorne, denn ich muss gestehen - Kreise sind von hinten und nicht Ton-in-Ton mit dem Rückseitenstoff - sehen nicht so schön aus, wie von vorne. ;) Aber ich bin trotzdem sehr zufrieden, dass ich es so hinbekommen habe.

And thereby you know, for what you need four bobbins, here a detail of one of my exhibition quilts. This time from the front, because I have to admit - pebbles don't look very well from the back, if you don't use the same color as the backing - they don't look as good as the front. ;) But I'm totally very pleased about how I got it.

Die Idee zu diesem Mix habe ich übrigens von Angela Walters. Auf Craftsy hat sie mehrere Kurse, die wirklich super sind. Sie zeigt viele Möglichkeiten, wie man gerade große Flächen quilten kann. Es gibt auch einen tollen Kurs zu Federn und sie hat eine tolle Art die Dinge zu erklären.

The idea for mixing the quilting patterns are by Angela Walters. At Craftsy she has some classes, which are really amazing. She shows so many possibilities for quilting big areas - also called negative space. There is also a great class about feathers and she has a great way to explane things.#

Ostern-Review

Ostern ist vorbei und ihr habt euch sicherlich gewundert, dass ich mich so spärlich bei euch gemeldet habe. Wir waren über Ostern im Norden unterwegs und ich habe soweit wie möglich aufs Handy und Internet verzichtet. Von daher noch einmal rückwirkend an Euch alle da draußen: Frohe Ostern!!!
Und für die da draußen, die schon wieder von einer Erkältung o.ä. eingeholt wurden: Gute Besserung!!!

Easter is over and maybe you wondered, why I commented so rarely during the last week. We went to the north about the Easter days and I resigned as far as possible my my mobile and internet. So, that's why I like to wish you all retrospective: Happy Easter!!!
And to those out there, which catched up a cold or something else: Get well soon!!!

Ein Highlight neben unserem ersten (Standesamt)Hochzeitstag und der Geburtstagsfeier meiner besten Freundin war auf jeden Fall das Treffen von Julie und mir mit Jeannette. Jeannette hat sogar mit ihrere persönlichen Stoffdealerin Svenja von Quiltworks gesprochen und sie hat extra für uns ihren Laden aufgemacht. (schaut mal bei Jeannette hier nach - ***hier*** gab es schon die ersten Bilder) Oh man... ich sage nur "Schnappatmung"! *gg* Ein Stoff schöner als der andere. Wo soll man da denn anfangen? *sabber* Und dann auch noch 3er-Paspeln! Ihr könnt euch nicht vorstellen, was das ist? Scrollt mal runter! *seufz* Haltet ihr mich schon für verrückt? Fragt mal Jeannette! Die hat zwischendurch echt schon kaputt gelacht, weil ich mich nicht mehr einbekommen habe. *gg* Svenja ist total lieb und sie hat mir meine Schätzchen (schaut mal die Jelly Roll an - I LOVE IT!) in einer Tasche eingepackt und ich habe sie für den Transport "versteckt". Könnt ihr sie auf dem ersten Bild sehen? Am Ende gibt es die Auflösung. Julie, die gerade erst anfängt mit dem Nähen, hat auch einige Stöffchen für Loops gefunden.

One highlight beneath our first (civil registry office) wedding day and the birthday party of my best friend Julie was definitly the meeting of Julie and me with Jeannette. Jeannette organized with her personal fabric-dealer Svenja by Quiltworks that she opened her store only for us. (Have a look at Jeannette's blog - she had already showed some pictures ***here***) OMG...  I can only say "gasping"! *gg* One fabric better than the other. Where should I began? *slobber* And than three turn piping! You cannot imaging, what this may be? (Maybe I also used a wrong word either.) So scroll down! *sigh* Do you think I'm crazy? Ask Jeannette! She loughed in a while during I jumped through the store and couldn't contain myself. *gg* Sylvia is so lovely and she put my treasures (look at this jelly roll - I LOVE IT!!!) in a lovely bag and I "hide" them under my secret project. Can you see them at my first picture? No? At the end, there will be the resolution. And Julie, who just began sewing, also got some lovely fabrics for some loops.

Im Anschluss waren wir noch in Jeannettes Kreativzentrum. Sie wohnt in einem so schönen alten Haus und hat ein tolles großes Zimmer zum Nähen. Einfach toll. Und da ich nicht all meine Quiltsachen mitnehmen konnte, habe ich die Gunst der Stunde genutzt. Näh-Neuling Julie wollte mit mir eine Tasche mit ihrer neuen Nähmaschine nähen. Die Stoffe etc. habe ich noch nach Julies Wünschen und meinen Ideen zugeschnitten, genäht haben wir allerings nicht mehr viel. Julie hat leider eine dicke Mittelohrentzündung bekommen und da war nicht mehr so viel mit Nähen etc. Also habe ich alles mitgenommen und werde ihr die Tasche fertig nähen. Davon später aber mal mehr.

After this we visited Jeannette's creative center. She lives in such a beautiful olf house and has a huge sewing-room. Just beautiful! And because I couldn't take all my quilting stuff with me on the road, I used the chance. Newly sewing Julie wanted to sew a purse with her new sewing machine. So I cut the fabric and everything else for her like she wanted it to and how I thought it would be ok. But we didn't sew at all, because Julie got a heavy acute ear and there wasn't much about sewing or something like this. So, I took the pieces with me and I will sew the purse for her. But later more about it.

Bei Jeannette habe ich auch endlich Quanta kennengelernt - ihr Schäferhund, die nicht weiß, dass sie ein Schäferhund ist. Ich glaube, sie war voll im Osterhasen-Fieber, denn die "Kleine" hüpfte durch den Garten wie ein Gummiball - oder halt Osterhase. Aber sowas von lieb, süß und verknuddelt! *hachz*

I finally got to know Quanta - Jeannette's sheepdog, who doesn't know, that she is a sheepdog. I think, she had an Easter-bunny-fever, because the "little" lady jumped through the garden like a rubber ball - or like a Easter bunny. But she is so lovely, cute and just cuddling!

So, und wer nun bis hierhin durchgehalten hat: Ihr dürft euch mit der linken Hand auf die rechte Schulter klopfen! Das nenne ich Durchhaltevermögen! Und zur Belohnung gibt es nun auch endlich die versprochenen Bilder. Viel Spaß!
