Today I was really productive! The day before yesterday my little neighbor has already become three and I sewed him a little duck. In our circle of friends one child is already born and another will hopefully be born in the next weeks. So I sewed some more. The body is filled with grape seeds. If the children will get one and and will swallow one, you don't have to worry not that much as if it were made of plastic. The seeds can easily be machine-washed. - My sister wanted a duck, too. Yup, yup! Aren't we all children - especially ingenieers we are? She choosed the colorful with the flowers and butterflies.
And today I also finished the top of a play mat. I began it in a BaliPop-course right in the beginning of the year. Yes, I know! These aren't BaliPop-fabrics. But I was mostly interested for the patterns - although batic fabrics are really beautiful. I decided in favour for Westfalen-fabrics, because they are a little more robust and particularly suitable for play mats. Five of nine sqares were already finished during the course. Today I sewed the last four. Certainly I think about ripping up the squares, because the top is to little with 29" x 29" for my opinion. I wonder if it wouldn't be better to sew red stripes between the squares. So let's have a look what I will do to get the quilt be bigger than now.
I'm linking up with Leah Day for FMQ Fridays at the Free Motion Project.
