I'll do my very best...

...I'll try at least.
Most blogs that I read are written in the United States. (Greetings to my favorite blogger - Leah Day) I will try from now on to write my posts on both German an English. Languages are not my strong point. My strengths are definitely math and science. So please don't look to much on my formulations. I hope I'm getting better with time. I will try next time to translate my old posts.

The beginning of a neverending story?

20 done, only 2480 left!
" The Neverending Story "
nennen. Ich denke, der Name passt perfekt. Was denkt ihr?

I've got actually a big goal - actually ìt is THE reason why I started quilting: a great, really great security blanket for my friend and me, we both fit under.
For some time I have a rough idea of the colored course: once by the color wheel - inside light and dark outside. But I had not started yet, because I didn't know how to start. Which pattern, what fabrics, ...? Where do I start? Where will I stop? Do you know this, too? You're dreaming of a big project - you see it before your eyes - but whre to start? Uff, not so easy.
But last week I sewed a new gift for a very good friend. Leftover little pieces were remaining. I have reassembled them. Some as stripes, some as windmills or as little squares. Ans I got the idea to use this new squares for my quilt.
I've calculated how many 2'' squares I will need until I reach the dimension of 2x2 meters. Have fun with calculating. - So what did you get? That must be some 2,500 single squares. So, let's go! 20 done, 2480 left!
If I've have set me a time limit? No! For this amount this doesn't work. So, I'm going to call the quilt
" The Neverending Story "
I think that fits perfectly. What do you think?

In February, we celebrated the birthday of my little godchild - it was his 5th. I sewed him a hippo pillow. I think, it is totally sweet - my boyfriend wanted to start already to discuss whether it would stay with us - the big brother of the birthday boy pulled a long face, because he got none (in summer he will be eight - so I don't have think about it)... and what says the little man? "This is not a hippo! This is certainly a dragon!!! Absolutely!" I can imagine so vividly. *gg* Well, it's ok. The main thing the boy is happy and snuggles with the pillow. I love the fact that the hippo has a hook-and-loop-fastener on the bottom. So pillow gets "legs" or it can be put around the safety belt. And maybe the kids are - hopefully for the driver - a little distracted.
